Outdoor Equipment Guidance

Leg Press Location: Station 1

The Leg Press offers benefits similar to leg lifts and lower body strength building. The isokinetic spring resistance and steel construction with rust-resistant coating make the Leg Press a more durable and higher-level fitness solution. These benefits make the Leg Press similar in quality to exercise equipment found in indoor environments. The outdoor fitness equipment user sits securely on the seat and places his or her feet on the footpads and slowly extends legs without locking the knees then slowly returns to the starting position. The resistance comes from an advanced isokinetic spring resistance mechanism which enhances the challenge for users of all fitness levels.

Captain's Chair Location: Station 1

The Captain’s Chair is a challenging ab workout that forgoes traditional sit-ups and crunches for an alternative core workout. Users hold onto the handgrips and rest their forearms on the arm pads and back against the backrest. Slowly raising and lifting and then lowering the legs engages the core and builds muscle strength. Padding is weather-resistant, making the Captain’s Chair an ideal solution for outdoor fitness parks where users may prefer to engage in upright core exercises rather than lying in the grass for traditional crunches or other core exercises.

Sit Up / Back Extension Location: Station 1

The Sit-Up/Back Extension is the ideal addition to any outdoor fitness equipment area needing additional ab strength training equipment. The Sit-Up bench has perforations for airflow providing comfort and quick drainage after rain. The comfortable padding on the Back Extension attachment enables users to comfortably exercise their core muscles. Ab endurance training helps promote balance and overall health. The Sit-up/Back Extension is a dual exercise machine.

Chin Up Location: Station 2

The Horizontal Chin-Up offers many of the benefits of traditional Chin-Ups but also allows the user to balance his or her feet on the platform, thus enabling the individual to control the amount of body weight he or she is lifting with the arms. This component utilizes the Plyometric Box as the platform and thus offers the additional fitness benefits of the Plyometric Box -two exercises in one- for step-ups, dips, and balance exercises.

Cardiowalker Location: Station 3

The Cardio Walker offers aerobic fitness and cardio benefits through a smooth striding gazelle or elliptical-like motion similar to walking or jogging. Simply place hands-on rails and place feet securely on foot pedals. Standing upright, alternate legs in a striding, smooth motion. Outdoor fitness park users can modify the intensity of their cardio aerobic exercise by extending or shortening the stride. Ergonomically designed handles and textured foot pedals ensure user comfort.

Plyometric Boxes Location: Station 3

This component is similar to indoor gym equipment like aerobic steps and boxes for jumping onto. It is highly flexible and serves for cardio jumping and step-ups as well as strength training like push-ups and dips. The top surface is made from high-quality marine-grade plastics. It is available in several heights to meet site-specific and user needs. These boxes are often grouped together to offer multiple step heights for various levels of challenge.
