EMS/Ambulance Services

Clarinda Regional Health Center's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a full-service, advanced life support, available 24 hours each and every day. Our EMS is housed in the Emergency Department (ER) allowing for quick response to 911 calls and instant availability for patient transfers. Proximity to the ER allows Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) to provide ER assistance and integrated care with our ER doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurses.

CRHC’s EMS is a Critical Care Transport service providing the highest level of care for critically ill patients. The Ambulance Service operates a fleet of four ambulances fully equipped with the latest in advanced life support technology, as well as emergency medical response equipment and medication.

The Ambulance Service is staffed by 40 certified members, with a minimum of one, two-person crew in-house at all times. Due to patient transfers and multiple calls throughout most days, two crews are often on-site and available to respond at a moment’s notice.

CRHC’s EMS staff consist of:

►     EMTs
►     Advanced EMTs
    Paramedics
    Critical Care Paramedics

In addition to these EMS certifications, all of our EMS staff receive Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified training. Additionally, staff receives Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support(PHTLS) certification.

CRHC’s EMS is available for private patient transfers as well, whether across town or across the country. Contact the EMS department for more information (712) 542-8289.

The CRHC EMS is also proud of our area community partnerships with New Market, College Springs, Braddyville and Villisca. The New Market and College Springs EMS programs are “satellite” services working closely with CRHC’s EMS service and utilizing CRHC’s EMS director and medical director to over see clinical quality and protocols. For immediate coverage for the area the CRHC EMS service is simultaneously dispatched in the New Market, Braddyville and College Springs service areas. CRHC is simultaneously dispatched to Villisca if the patient is a CRHC patient or asks to be transported to CRHC.
