Test Iowa Dates for January & February Continue

Effective 1/25/2021: CRHC's Test Iowa Site is now only available three (3) times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 3:00 pm and ending once every vehicle in line has been seen. The site remines at the winter location, the Clarinda Fire Station, on East Washington Street. CRHC staff kindly ask that anyone wanting or scheduled for testing be in line promptly at 3:00 pm.

In partnership with the State of Iowa, Clarinda Regional Health Center became a location for Test Iowa drive-thru Coronavirus tests in the southwest region of the state. The first day of testing began earlier in the spring, on Wednesday, June 3rd.

The Test Iowa Initiative began back in April in an effort to expand testing capabilities to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Iowa. Appointments at CRHC’s Test Iowa Site will be scheduled for those who have gone to TestIowa.com website, take the assessment and scheduled an appointment.

To schedule a COVID-19 test with no out of pocket expense through Test Iowa, you must go to TestIowa.com and take the assessment. Answer the questions and make sure you choose CRHC as your testing site. Then call our COVID line at 712-542-8341 to schedule your Test Iowa appointment at our drive-thru testing site on one of the dates listed below. Please bring the information and QR code emailed to you by Test Iowa.

Please note that CRHC staff will perform the nasal swab while the patient remains in their car. Patients will receive their results via the Test Iowa portal.

The awards were presented by Iowa Health and Human Services through the Flex program. The first award honors CRHC’s outstanding performance in electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs). These measures demonstrate the hospital’s consistent use of best practices in critical areas of patient care, including stroke treatment, ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) response, safe opioid prescribing, and prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Additionally, CRHC earned recognition for successfully meeting all eight Critical Access Hospital Quality Infrastructure Elements and Criteria for 2024. CRHC Welcomes Dr. Jose Hinojosa, Family Practice Provider

Clarinda Regional Health Center (CRHC) is excited to welcome Dr. Jose Hinojosa, a Family Medicine physician, to the team. Dr. Hinojosa brings more than 30 years of experience in caring for patients of all ages and will begin seeing patients in September of 2025. Dr. Hinojosa completed his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in McAllen, Texas. Over his career, he has served in multiple leadership roles, including Medical Director and Chief of Staff, while remaining passionate about providing patient-centered primary care. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the people of Clarinda and the surrounding communities. My goal is to provide the kind of care that helps patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their health,” Hinojosa said. CRHC President/CEO Chuck Nordyke stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Hinojosa to Clarinda Regional Health Center.
