Ryan Whitney, MD
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Whitney attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln for his undergraduate studies and went on to the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha where he received his medical degree. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. From there, he went back to Omaha to serve his fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
After completing his education, Dr. Whitney joined the BryanLGH Heart Institute in July 2003. Dr. Whitney currently serves as the Director of the BHI Lipid Clinic.
Dr. Whitney has a specialty interest in interventional cardiology and lipid management. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Subspecialty Boards of Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. In addition, he is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Whitney enjoys spending time with his wife Marietta and their son Blake, and twins Jetta and Giavanna. He also enjoys physical fitness, home improvement projects and NASCAR.
