CRHC Lends Hand to Flood Victims

Clarinda, IA | (March 19, 2019) — For Immediate Release

CRHC Population Health Manager Molly Gilmore says employees and the community at large are being asked to supply items for displaced flood victims.  Gilmore says, “We have been in contact with local shelters and they are in need of several items at this time”.  She goes on to say the current list includes these items:

  1. Large and XL Sweatshirts and Sweatpants
  2. Pre-packaged snack items
  3. Cell phone chargers (apple and android)
  4. Laundry detergent
  5. Underwear, socks, bras- all sizes
  6. Leashes & collars for animals
  7. Snack size ziplocs
  8. Cat litter boxes

Gilmore reports a collection box has been placed in the front lobby of CRHC. She adds, “We will deliver the collected items to the shelters on Thursday”.  In addition, she says the Old Armory in Shenandoah is also currently looking for volunteers to staff that shelter in 4 hour shifts.  Gilmore says, “Volunteers are needed there to help with meals, checking people in and organizing a variety of details.  Interested volunteers are asked to contact Brandy Powers with Page County Public Health at 712-370-0441”.
