Clarinda, IA | (November 9, 2017) – CRHC Radiology Manager Greg Jones says the first two months using the latest 3-D technology have proven to be popular with patients. During the just completed Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, CRHC conducted 130 mammogram screenings. Jones says since bringing 3-D technology to CRHC, 233 screenings have been done in the first two months.
Jones adds in order to enhance patient convenience, CRHC will now offer mammography services the first Saturday of every month, beginning on December 2nd. The first Saturday of the month clinics will be held between 8 a.m. and noon and appointments are required. Jones explains, “During October we offered Saturday clinics and were pleased with the positive feedback we got from patients. Our staff is always sensitive to patient convenience and believes many will want to take advantage of these Saturday opportunities.”
Jones goes on to say, “While we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness every October, patients need to stay vigilant about breast health every month of the year. For those patients not able to get a mammogram scheduled in October, we want to continue to raise awareness about the importance of self-examinations and regular screenings.”
The latest Hologic Genius 3D Mammography screenings first became available in early September. Jones says through the first two months, 233 screenings were completed, which is nearly double the number of screenings from one year ago. “Patients are certainly understanding that screenings result in early detection and that early detection of breast cancer leads to better overall outcomes,” Jones said.
